For your info, it's good to be aware that the majority of the cPanel-based Hosting offerings on the present web hosting market are provided by a quite insignificant marketing niche (when it comes to yearly money flow) named hosting reseller. Reseller website hosting is a kind of a small-scale business niche, which supplies a huge number of different web hosting trademarks, yet offering literally the same services: chiefly cPanel web hosting solutions. This is bad news for everybody. Why? Because at least 98 percent of the website hosting offers on the entire web hosting marketplace offer absolutely the same service: cPanel. There's no diversity at all. Even the cPanel-based Hosting price tags are identical. Very much alike. Giving those who require a top web hosting service almost no other website hosting platform/Control Panel alternative. Thus, there is simply one single fact: out of more than 200,000 web hosting brand names around the world, the non-cPanel based ones are less than 2 percent! Less than 2%, note that one...

200k "Hosting providers", all cPanel-based, yet diversely dubbed

The Hosting "variety" and the web hosting "offers" Google shows to us boil down to merely one and the very same thing: cPanel. Under 100's of thousands of different web hosting trademarked names. Assume you are just a normal guy who's not well aware of (as most of us) with the site development procedures and the website hosting platforms, which in fact power the different domain names and sites. Are you ready to make your web hosting choice? Is there any hosting option you can select? Sure there is, these days there are more than 200k web hosting corporations in existence. Officially. Then where is the problem? Here's where: more than 98 percent of these 200,000+ different website hosting brands across the world will give you precisely the same cPanel website hosting Control Panel and platform, dubbed differently, with literally the same price tags! WOW! That's how big the diversity on the present-day web hosting market is... Period.

The Hosting LOTTO we are all participating in

Simple arithmetic reveals that to stumble upon a non-cPanel based web hosting corporation is an enormous strike of luck. There is a less than 1 in fifty chance that an event like that will occur! Less than 1 in fifty...

The advantages and disadvantages of the cPanel-based Hosting solution

Let's not be harsh with cPanel. At least, in the years 2001-2004 cPanel was modern and presumably answered most web hosting business preconditions. To cut a long story short, cPanel can achieve the desired result if you have just one single domain to host. But, if you have more domain names...

Weakness Number One: A stupid domain name folder structure

If you have 2 or more domain names, though, be extra careful not to delete entirely the add-on ones (that's how cPanel will dub each next hosted domain name, which is not the default one: an add-on domain). The files of the add-on domain names are very easy to remove on the web hosting server, since they all are created into the root folder of the default domain, which is the very well known public_html folder. Each add-on domain name is a folder situated inside the folder of the default domain. Like a sub-folder. Next time try not to remove the files of the add-on domains, please. Determine for yourself how marvelous cPanel's domain name folder structure is:

public_html (here my-default-domain.com is situated)
public_html/my-family (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-second-domain.com (an add-on domain name)
public_html/my-second-wife (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-second-wife.net (an add-on domain)
public_html/my-third-domain.com (an add-on domain name)
public_html/my-third-wife (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-third-wife.net (an add-on domain name)
public_html/rebeka (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/rebeka.my-third-wife.net (a sub-domain of an add-on domain)

Are you growing disorientated? We absolutely are!

Drawback Number 2: The very same electronic mail folder setup

The email folder structure on the web server is strictly the same as that of the domains... Making the same error twice?!? The sysadmin chaps firmly enhance their faith in God when dealing with the mail folders on the email server, praying not to botch things up too badly.

Negative Side Number 3: An absolute absence of domain name management tools

Do we have to point out the entire shortage of a modern domain name manipulation user interface - a location where you can: register/move/renew/park or administer domain names, edit domains' Whois information, shield the Whois info, edit/create name servers (DNS) and Domain Name System records? cPanel does not have such a "contemporary" GUI at all. That's a gigantic problem. An unpardonable one, we wish to point out...

Negative Sign Number Four: Multiple login places (min 2, max 3)

What about the demand for an additional login to use the invoicing, domain and technical support administration software platform? That's apart from the cPanel user account login credentials you've been already provided by the cPanel Hosting company. At times, on the basis of the invoicing transaction system (especially conceived for cPanel solely) the cPanel Hosting vendor is availing of, the enthusiastic clients can wind up with two additional logins (1: the invoicing transaction/domain name administration system; 2: the ticket support user interface), ending up with an aggregate of three user login locations (including cPanel).

Negative Side Number 5: More than 120 hosting Control Panel sections to get to know... rapidly

cPanel presents to your attention 120+ menus inside the website hosting CP. It's a remarkable idea to become familiar with each one of them. And you'd better learn them swiftly... That's extremely impertinent on cPanel's side.

With all due respect, we have a rhetorical question for all cPanel Hosting distributors:

As far as we are aware of, it's not the year 2001, is it? Note that one as well...
